Biographical
details

I took my undergraduate degree in Psychology at University
College London. Whilst studying for this I was awarded a grant
to work with Jamie Ward over one summer, investigating synaesthesia.
I also worked with him on my third year project, looking at
colour/music associations. I then studied for my MSc in Cognitive
Neuropsychology, also at UCL, whilst working as a lab demonstrator
for the 2nd year undergraduates. I undertook my MSC project
with Gabriella Vigliocco, looking at potential neural locations
for action and object words, using TMS on a non-clinical population,
as well as studying progressively brain damaged patients.
Current Research

Currently,
my main interests are in the field of language. I am working
with Jeff Bowers and Sven Mattys in the language group on
an ESRC funded project looking at the impact of early language
experience on later language ability. We are interested in
investigating whether populations exposed to a subsequently
'lost' language show benefits in perceiving and potentially
understanding subtle auditory differences in that language
later on in life. As well as this I'm aiding Hans Stadthagen
with his current research.
