Biographical
Details
Peter Robinson is a social-developmental psychologist
whose research interests have followed two strands since 1985:
self-perception and self-evaluation of adolescents and the
social psychology of language and social psychology. More
recently, the latter became focused on deception and lying,
and especially the reactions of and attitudes of people to
misleading statements by authorities (see Deception, delusion,
& detection (1996), Thousand Oaks, CA: Sage). Most recently,
the concern has been with the evidence and arguments people
have to support the validity of their individual beliefs.
